Beloved Benefit Returns August 14 to Tackle Atlanta's Economic Divide
Rooted in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision of the "Beloved Community," The Same House is answering that call with its signature event: the Beloved Benefit, returning on Wednesday, August 14, 2025, at the Woodruff Arts Center. Now in its fourth edition, the event continues to unite civic, business, and philanthropic leaders to invest in meaningful change across Georgia and beyond.
ATLANTA, GA / ACCESS Newswire / July 8, 2025 / Atlanta's growth has brought with it incredible opportunity, but also increasing challenges when it comes to economic mobility. Families at the top of the income ladder earn more than six times what those at the bottom earn. But at The Same House, these numbers are not seen as fixed outcomes. They are a call to action.
Since 2019, the event has raised $21 million for Atlanta and inspired an additional $40 million to address today's most urgent challenges.
The Beloved Benefit acts as a catalyst for community connection and collaboration. Since 2019, the event has raised $21 million for Atlanta and inspired an additional $40 million to address today's most urgent challenges, bridging social and economic divides. Last year alone, The Same House supported 24 organizations and reached over 100,000 individuals and their families.
In response to Atlanta's growing economic inequality, this year's Beloved Benefit will support eight nonprofit partners that are tackling the root causes through community-driven solutions. These include:
"Time and time again, I am humbled by the way this event brings people together across all walks of life," said Rodney Bullard, Founder and CEO of The Same House. "The Beloved Benefit is a living example of what happens when we choose connection over isolation, contribution over silence, and creation over complacency. That is how we build The Same House."
Inspired by the words of the late Congressman John Lewis - "We are one people. We are one family. We all live in the same house." - The Beloved Benefit is a celebration of shared purpose. Each edition, the event features an evening of storytelling and performances from cultural icons. This year's participants include T.I., Ludacris, Maria Taylor, and Rickey Smiley.
On August 14, the Beloved Benefit will debut a new format, shifting from a traditional seated dinner to an evening inspired by the Kennedy Center Honors. The updated program will place a stronger emphasis on entertainment, storytelling, and celebrating community champions.
This year's Beloved Benefit is made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors like Chick-fil-A, Georgia Power, Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, Truist Charitable Fund, The Home Depot Foundation, UPS, Smurfit Westrock, Choate Construction, The Coca-Cola Company & The Coca-Cola Foundation, Delta Air Lines, Graphic Packaging International, and Wells Fargo.
