Quansah to miss England's pre-World Cup friendlies
Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah has been ruled out of England's March friendlies with a thigh injury, the German club announced Sunday.
Quansah, 23, picked up the injury in Saturday's 3-3 draw at Heidenheim.
"Quansah suffered a muscle injury in his left front thigh and will therefore not be able to join the England national team as planned," Leverkusen said in a statement.
The former Liverpool defender was picked as part of England coach Thomas Tuchel's 35-man squad on Friday.
England face Uruguay at Wembley on Friday and take on Japan at the same venue four days later.
