Pogacar wins first stage of Dauphine
Slovenia's Tadej Pogacar outsprinted a host of race favourites to win the first leg of the Criterium du Dauphine on Sunday.
Pogacar, of the UAE Team Emirates-XRG, came across the line ahead of Jonas Vingegaard and Mathieu van der Poel, clocking 4hr 40min 02sec over the hilly 196km run from Domerat and Montlucon.
Monday's second stage is another hilly one, over 204.6km from Premilhat to Issoire.
