State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) announced on Wednesday that it has secured four major projects from Adani Power, with total values ranging between ₹20,000 crore and ₹28,000 crore. The fresh orders involve the supply of key equipment—including boilers, turbines, and generators—along with agreed services for the specified projects.
In a filing to the stock exchanges, BHEL confirmed receipt of orders from Adani Power Limited (APL) for four distinct projects, each comprising 2x800 MW capacity. The company noted that each project is valued at approximately ₹5,000 crore to ₹7,000 crore, excluding goods and services tax.
Adani Power, a subsidiary of the diversified Adani Group, stands as India’s largest private thermal power producer. It currently operates an installed thermal capacity of 18,110 MW across twelve power plants located in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Tamil Nadu. The group also manages a 40-MW solar power facility in Gujarat.
BHEL remains one of India’s leading engineering and manufacturing firms, with extensive experience spanning power, transmission, renewables, oil and gas, transportation, defense, and aerospace sectors.
