Dana White Confirms Flight to Washington for Trump Meeting on Press Secretary Role
UFC President Dana White confirmed he is traveling to Washington D.C. to meet with President Donald Trump on Monday, following reports that Trump offered him the position of White House Press Secretary. The meeting will take place in the Oval Office after White completes his current obligations in London.
UFC President Dana White is traveling to Washington D.C. on Monday to meet with President Donald Trump regarding an offer to become the next White House Press Secretary, White confirmed late Saturday.
White stated he was flying to the capital "right now" from London, where he is currently present for a boxing match. The confirmation aligns with earlier reporting that Trump extended the invitation over the weekend.
Trump announced the offer on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Saturday. In his post, he praised White, writing that he would "be a Press Secretary like none other." Trump directly appealed to White in the post, stating, "Dana, please take the job!"
The potential appointment follows a brief and turbulent tenure for the previous press secretary role. Katie Zacharia was removed from the position after only five days. Vice President JD Vance reportedly informed her of the dismissal during an interview.
Prior to Zacharia's ouster, speculation had circulated within White House circles about potential candidates. Just before the Republican Party's recent midterm election losses, some staff members floated rapper Nicki Minaj as a possible successor.
It remains unclear whether White will accept the position when he meets with Trump in the Oval Office on Monday.
